In 2009, Alex Blue, served as the Big "D" Detachment's Judge Advocate Officer. He was responsible for updating the Detachment By-Laws and Administrative Regulations.
In addition to these responsibilities, Alex steadfastly supported the mission of the Marine Corps League in providing camaraderie and assistance to Marines, as well as their widows and orphans. Alex also worked to preserve the traditions of the U.S. Marine Corps.
For his outstanding service he was awarded the "Marine of the Year" Medal for 2009 at the Detachment's Annual Officer Installation & Awards Luncheon.
